The specific model of MacBook Pro you buy this Black Friday will depend entirely on what kind of MacBook you need.
For those who want some extra performance than they’d get with a MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro (M2, 2022) and the 14-inch MacBook Pro (M3) are both great MacBook Pro models that will give you an entry-level Pro experience at a much more accessible price point.
For those who need more performance than the entry-level models can provide, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M2 Pro and M3 Pro ships are a good middle ground between high-end performance and mainstream pricing.
For those who want the very best performance, the M2 Max and M3 Max chips are what you’ll be looking for, in either the 14-inch or 16-inch form factors. These MacBook Pro models can get some very big discounts on Black Friday (or earlier), but they are also very expensive to start with, so you’ll still end up paying quite a bit for these MacBook Pro models, even with great discounts.
Of course, all of these points equally apply to the new M4 MacBook Pro models, though whether we’ll see that many great discounts on these latest models remains to be seen, though definitely keep an eye out for them if what you’re really looking for is tools and utilities that leverage AI, like Apple Intelligence or similar.
